SANTUARY OF THE BEATO BERNARDO

La costruzione della chiesa con il convento ebbe inizio nel 1614nei pressi del luogo dove sorgeva l’antica chiesetta dedicata a S. Pantaleo. L’edificio attuale risale al 1893 e fu costruita su disegno di fra Angelo da Cassano d’Adda per onorare la memoria di fra Bernardo vissuto a lungo nel convento di Offida ove morì il 22 Agosto 1694. All’interno della chiesa è presente la “cameretta” dedicata al Beato Bernardo, dove i fedeli si raccolgono in preghiera.

The construction of the churchand the convent beganin 1614 near the place where the old church dedicated to St. Pantaleo stood. The current building dates back to 1893 and it was built on the design of Friar Angelo da Cassano d’Adda to honour the memory of Friar Bernardo who lived for a long time in Offida where he died on August 22nd 1694.  In the church there is the “cameretta” of Beato Bernardo where the faithful gather in prayer.
