FORMER MONASTERY OF SAN FRANCESCO

13th – 16th century

Nel 1236 il Priore di S. Maria concede il piazzale di S. Agnese( oggi Piazza Bergalucci ) alle Clarisse per la costruzione di un monastero, le quali vi rimasero fino al 1515 ed il convento ceduto ai Frati Minori Osservanti. Dopo le Soppressioni Napoleoniche, venne acquisito dal Comune di Offida che lo adibì a funzioni di pubblico utilizzo. Dal 1999, la struttura ospita l’Enoteca Regionale delle Marche e dal 2021 è altresì sede dell’Oleoteca Regionale.

The Prior of St. Maria gave the square of St. Agnese (today Piazza Bergalucci) to the Clarisse for the construction of a monastery in 1236.The nuns stayed there until 1515 and than it was given to the Friars Minor Observant.
It was acquired by thetown of Offida after the Napoleonic suppressions.
The structure houses the Enoteca Regionale delle Marche since 1999 and it’s the seat of the Oleoteca Regionale since 2021.
