CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA DELLA ROCCA

Costruita sul luogo di una preesistente chiesa dell’XI secolo che ne costituisce la cripta, la chiesa attuale, fu edificata tra il 1330 ed il XVI secolo ad opera dei monaci benedettini. La chiesa superiore, a navata unica e la cripta, sono arricchite da pregevoli affreschi trecenteschi. Si evidenziano quelli presenti nel catino absidale ad opera del Maestro di Offida.

The crypt was built on the site of a pre-existing church of 11thcentury.Thechurchwasbuiltbetween 1330 and the 16thcentury by the Benedictine monks. The upper church has a single nave and the crypt is enriched by valuable fourteenth-century frescoes.
